What Ski Pass To Buy Based on Your Favorite Pistes
Hitting the slopes and the high peaks of Vermont and New Hampshire is one of Higgerson & Company’s favorite winter pursuits. We have already decided on which ski passes to buy this season; in case you haven’t and need help choosing, following is our guide.
Why the excitement in October? The Weather Forecast. Have you seen the tops of the spruce and pine trees lately? How about any giant fuzzy woolly bugger caterpillars? It’s an El Nino year and our historical experience tells us that it’s going to be a huge year for snow in the Northeast. Get ready.
Where to Go: The big corporate passes still dominate the larger resorts in our area but there are tons of options for great experiences on a smaller scale. Are you a Killington and Stratton skier? Take a look at the Ikon Pass. Sunapee, Okemo and Stowe more your style? Vail Resorts and the Epic Pass has you covered.
A great, slightly funkier and more collective approach to the season pass can be had through the Indy Pass, and includes amazing options such as Saskadena Six, Jay Peak, Bolton Valley, Magic Mountain and Cannon Mountain.
Looking to skip the lines, done some skins and take to the backcountry? Take a look at the Ridgeline Outdoor Collective and the Catamount Trail Association (where you can ski the entire length of the State of Vermont) as well as the Vermont Hut Association where you can make arrangement to stay (winter reservations are open now!)
No matter where you plan ski or ride this season in the Green or White Mountains, look for the H&Co. van in the lot and come say hello. As always, Higgerson & Company is eager to spread the word about all the things that make living in the Upper Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire so great. If you are looking for a new home in the area or a vacation property, we are your real estate experts in Hanover, NH, Quechee and Woodstock, VT, and the constellation of wonderful towns that surround us.
