What To Know About Bridgewater, Vermont

In between Woodstock and Killington, the Town of Bridgewater, Vermont lies nestled in the foothills and valleys of the southern Green Mountains. The Ottauquechee River flows west to east through the town and U.S. Route 4 follows the river, connecting Woodstock and White River Junction to the east with Rutland to the west. The Appalachian Trail also passes through the town, running along the northern border.

The population of just over 900 people puts Bridgewater on the smaller side of the median of local area towns. But what it lacks in population it makes up for in amenities; home to the Long Trail Brewery and the Shackleton Thomas furniture and pottery workshops, Bridgewater is the perfect example of a town with an economic base rooted in Vermont craft industries.
